JOB SUMMARY:

Working with Customer Service, the Technician is responsible for diagnosing and repairing electronic eyeglasses and related components.  Testing and inspection includes the use of precision measuring instruments, basic laboratory equipment, analysis software and precise visual inspection methods.  The Technician will participate in problem solving with respect to consumers’ electronic eyeglasses, and will be required to discuss issues with customers to help identify and correct customer problems.

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Electrical Technicians will acquire and maintain a detailed understanding of the product, development, and equipment for all operations and quality processes.  Electrical Technicians will identify and segregate defective product.  Creates and maintains results of repairs and returns  and communicates results to management.  Maintains library of test, validation and rejected product as prescribed by test protocol, departmental procedures or direct management instruction.  Electrical Technicians must have the ability to work with little or no supervision.  The Electrical Technician will ensure that established repair and return timetables are met.   Any other tasks as assigned from time to time as requested.

 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

1.       Preferred 5+ years of electronics testing experience.

2.       Preferred 5 years+ experience in electronics field

3.       Ability to exhibit strong organizational skills.

4.       Ability to communicate in a clear, concise, understandable manner, understands material, take corrective action directives.

5.       Ability to exhibit strong time management skills.

6.       Ability to prioritize projects and process multiple tasks as required with minimal supervision.

7.       Ability to maintain records and documentation pertaining to all processes, protocols, testing methods, equipment, and tools.

8.       Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job.

9.       Ability to apply intermediate level skills with MS Word, Excel, Internet Explorer and Outlook.

 

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

1.       Must have 2 year college education in electronics or similar discipline; in addition to 2+ years’ related experience..

2.        Ability to demonstrate a high level of planning, organizational, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.

3.       Good customer service skills and ability to discuss problems with customers.

4.       Knowledge and experience with electrical test equipment.

5.       Ability to demonstrate an understanding of safety and environmental requirements.

6.       Strong interpersonal, communication, organization and follow-through skills.

 

 

LANUAGE SKILLS:

1.       Ability to communicate with others in an effective and concise manner.

2.       Ability to understand complex technical information, and translate this information into relevant business terms and concepts.

 

 

MATHMATICS SKILLS:

1.      Simple mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, fractions, percentages, and proportions to practical situations.

2.      Ability to learn applied statistical analysis.

 

 

REASONING ABILITY:

1.      Ability to define problems; solve practical problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

2.      Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Ability to exhibit an awareness of and strategic response to external influences.
