JOB SUMMARY:
The Process Engineer will develop and improve the process of surfacing and finishing our unique new lenses
The ideal candidate will have 10 years experience in an optical laboratory with working knowledge in the following areas:

Freeform machining
-
Edging
-
Coating
-
Mounting
-
Yield and quality improvement
-
Process problem solving and improvement
-
Data mining and Experience in statistical analysis as a means of overall process improvement
ESSENTIAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to exhibit strong organizational skills.

Ability to communicate in a clear, concise, understandable manner, understands material, take corrective action directives.

Ability to exhibit strong time management skills.
-
Ability to prioritize projects and process multiple tasks as required with minimal supervision.

Ability to monitor the quality, cost and efficiency of all processes.

Ability to analyze logistical problems and produce and document new solutions.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
-
An engineering or science degree is preferred
-
10+ years experience working in an optical laboratory, with background in surfacing and finishing eyeglasses
REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, solve practical problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Ability to exhibit an awareness of and strategic response to external influences.

Ability to apply Failure Mode Effects Analysis, Gage Reproducibility & Repeatability, CPC & SPC and other Six Sigma tools to assure Process Excellence.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, professional journals and technical procedures.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and business processes.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
